There's no doubt:  America has a bad case of Powerball fever.  So what are the odds you'll strike it rich with the record-high Powerball jackpot?  Let's just say they're against you.  Your chances of winning that cool $500 million are roughly one in 175 million.

But on the flip side, here's our list of 10 things that are more likely to happen to you than winning the lottery:

  1. Get struck by lightning
  2. Win an Academy Award
  3. Become President of the United States
  4. Write a New York Times bestseller
  5. Have identical quadruplets
  6. Open a four-number combination lock on the first try
  7. Be injured by a toilet
  8. Be killed by a vending machine
  9. Get a hole-in-one
  10. Get hit by a coconut
