Ariz. winning Powerball ticket sold in Fountain Hills

PHOENIX -

The Arizona Lottery announced the winning Powerball ticket was sold in Fountain Hills, Ariz. It was a $10 Quick Pick Ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at 4 Sons Food Store in Foothills, Ariz., the lottery announced Thursday.

Lottery officials say that ticket and another sold in Missouri won the record $579.9 million Powerball jackpot in Wednesday night's drawing.

However, the lottery says "no information about the winner will be available at this time" because no one has come forward yet.

The winner of this ticket is the 11th person in Arizona to win the Powerball jackpot prize.

The jackpot is the largest in Powerball history. That ticket and another sold in Missouri will split the record Powerball jackpot of $587.5 million. That's about $294 million per ticket.

The winners could split a cash payout of $384.7 million before taxes, or about $192 million per ticket.

The second winning Powerball ticket was sold north of the Kansas City area.

Missouri Lottery spokesman Gary Gonder says the winner has not yet come forward Thursday to claim the record prize, but there is no rush.

Gonder says he is traveling to the store that sold the winning ticket to help with an expected onslaught of media attention. Missouri Lottery officials plan to announce the identity of the retailer later Thursday.

The Missouri Lottery says two $1 million winning Powerball tickets were also sold in the state -- one in Joplin and the other in Kansas City.

The winners have six months to claim their prize money.
