Deputies caught 18 illegal immigrants after they stopped a truck on the SR 87 for driving too fast on Wednesday.
Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a GMC truck with a camper shell because the driver was speeding. Eight men immediately tried to out run them on foot; three of them were caught.
Fifteen more illegal immigrants were found crammed inside the truck.
All 18 people admitted to paying a coyote driver between $1,000 and $8,000 to be illegally smuggled into the U.S.
The men were originally from Guatemala and Mexico. They got into the country through Altar and Nogales and were headed to Florida, California, Washington and Georgia.
One of the illegal's was a 15-year-old boy, he was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The other 17 men were booked into jail on charges of human smuggling.
