Utah AG meeting with polygamous sect leaders

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah Attorney's General office is meeting with members and ex-members of a polygamous sect on the Utah-Arizona border to discuss how to move forward with the distribution of homes, businesses and property the state has controlled since 2005.
At stake is Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' property in Hilldale, Utah, and Colorado City, Ariz.
David Sonnenreich of the Attorney's General office gave a presentation to about 150 people in attendance at Friday's meeting in Colorado City, Ariz. The meeting was also webcast.
He laid out four options: create a new board of trustees; distribute properties among members; auction properties off giving people credits to buy them; and negotiate a new settlement.

The sect is a radical offshoot of mainstream Mormonism led by now-jailed Warren Jeffs.
