Get Up and Go: Euharlee Festival of Trees

Posted: Updated:
EUHARLEE, Ga. -

The destination for Get Up and Go is Euharlee and an event that organizer John Montgomery says is as old fashioned and non-commercial as possible.  It's the Euharlee Festival of Trees.

It is now underway and will continue through December 8.

This is a real family event with a marshmellow roast outside, and inside about 40 beautifully decorated Christmas trees. More than half of them are being auctioned by silent bid.

Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening, Santa pays visit.  So, take the kids and take your camera!

The Euharlee Festival of Trees is open each evening from 6 to 9 p.m. through December 8 and admission is free.  Proceeds from the tree auction go to the Margaret Montgomery Christmas 4 Kids Foundation which helps provide Christmas gifts to kids in need in Bartow County.

They say the third time's a charm, and that's certainly the case for Candice Glover.  A third try on American Idol was just what she needed, and on Thursday night she was crowned the season 12 champ.
