You've probably been to a yard sale or two in your life, and you might have found some great deals.  But would you know how to get the most out of your own yard sale?  Good Day's Tacoma Perry talked to an expert who shared some great tips for how to make your yard sale a huge hit.
ATLANTA -

It was 20 years ago this week when the first text message was ever sent and our thumbs have not been the same since. Texting has significantly changed our world, but the text message is still just 160 characters despite our smart phones now having the ability to merge them into a continuous conversation.

Gossip, vital information, and entertainment have all been sent using the Short Service Message or SMS.

The first text message was sent on December 3, 1992. It was a simple holiday greeting from engineer Neil Papworth to a colleague at a Christmas party. Papworth admits, he didn't think texting would amount to anything.

It did and by 1998, the texting craze was in full force, causing a cultural and social revolution for better or worse.

GOOD DAY HOT TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU LOVE OR HATE ABOUT TEXTING?  Post your comments on our FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, or tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta.  We'll read some of your comments during the 9 a.m. hour of Good Day on Monday!

Text messaging has replaced many of the face-to-face conversations we used to have. More than seven trillion text messages are sent each year. That is roughly 200,000 texts sent each second. To put it into perspective, the average 12 to 15 year old sends about 193 texts a week.

Texting has caused the downfall of celebrities, politicians, and athletes. But don't despair; our society has learned to express ourselves in fewer words and sometimes without using any words. :)

And speaking of words or lack thereof, there are whole dictionaries devoted to text lingo like OMG, LOL, and BFF.

Here's the favorite part for FOX 5's Doug Evans, the auto correct feature. It was developed to make your life easier and to lend a hand by making you a world-class speller, but it also has given rise to many fails. Websites devoted to such involuntary miscommunications that have met with hilarious ends.

For some examples of such auto correct fails, watch the video above.
