Phoenix's median home price continues to rise

TEMPE, Ariz. -

A new report by real state researchers at Arizona State University says the median home price in metro Phoenix during October increased by 34 percent when compared to the same period a year before.

The report by the university's W.P. Carey School of Business says the median home price stood at $157,000 in October.

The median home price for October 2011 was $116,000.

The researchers also said the supply of homes and condos in metro Phoenix increased 31% over the past three months.

Top 10 increases:

  1. Arizona City: 43%
  2. El Mirage: 40%
  3. Casa Grande: 39%
  4. Youngtwon: 39%
  5. Maricopa: 38%
  6. San Tan Valley: 38%
  7. Phoenix: 36%
  8. Tolleson: 36%
  9. Wittman: 35%
  10. Coolidge: 33%

Notable cities include:

  • Glendale: 38%
  • Mesa: 21%
  • Tempe: 20%
  • Chandler: 18%
  • Scottsdale: 14%
