A man walking with his daughter was attacked by three pit bulls and a teen that came to his aid was also bitten.

It happened Monday afternoon in New Cassel.

Nassau County police say the 44-year-old man was walking with his daughter on Maplewood Dr. when the three dogs ran from an open gate.

The man shielded his child as the dogs bit him on the arms, legs and his midsection.

A 16-year-old boy was in his house and when he heard the barking, came out and was bitten on the knee.

Police say both victims fought off the dogs until a teen removed the dogs and put them back into her house.

Police arrested Nyisha Banks, 17 of Maplewood Dr. and another juvenile with her and charged them with reckless endangerment.

The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.  The victim's daughter was not hurt.
