Suspects sought in break-in at check-cashing business

PHOENIX -

Crooks cut a hole in the roof of a check-cashing business and then waited inside for a worker to show up Tuesday.

FOX 10 cameras were on scene near 19th Avenue and Indian School.

Police say two suspects were waiting inside a Check Smart, and when the employee arrived, they robbed her.

"It doesn't appear that they were able to obtain anything from the business, but they may have taken some personal items from the store employee," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.

The woman tried to lock the suspects inside the business, but they kicked their way out.

Police are still searching for the suspects. They were described as black males wearing masks.
