Supt. McCarthy moves top commanders to high-violence areas

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy is making some moves this morning in order to deal with the recent increase in shootings in some parts of the city.

McCarthy is shuffling commanders in some districts and making other moves.

His biggest move is taking Commander Joe Gorman from gang intelligence and moving him to the 9th district to deal with an increase in shootings there.

McCarthy said the moves being made are as part of an evolutionary process to get the right people in the right place to fight crime.
