Woman and child stabbed near Central Park

A woman and a child were stabbed on the Upper West Side, at Central Park, on Wednesday morning.  A total of five people were injured in the incident.

The NYPD says it happened just before 11 a.m. at Central Park West and W 103rd St.

A man slashed the two and three police officers were also injured while trying to arrest the suspect.

Police believe this was not a random attack and may have been connected to a domestic dispute.

The two civilian victims were taken to St. Luke's Hospital.  Their conditions were unknown.  The injuries to the NYPD officers were believed to be minor.

No other details were immediately available.
