TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A woman who suspected her ex-husband of stealing $80 from her purse called the Pima County Sheriff's Department to report the theft.
That's not all she told authorities.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that she also told a deputy that her ex-husband applied for a job with the sheriff's department.
According to the deputy's October report, the woman confronted her ex and he admitted in a text message and a phone call that he had taken the money.
The report says when a sheriff's detective asked the ex-husband about the theft, the man admitted it.
The woman told a deputy that she felt she needed to report the theft since her husband was an applicant to the sheriff's department.
It was unclear if the man got the job.
