(CNS) Authorities today investigated armed robberies at two Denny's restaurants, one in Orange and the other in Commerce around an hour later.
The first robbery was carried out at a Denny's in the 3000 block of West Chapman Avenue in Orange around 10:30 p.m. Monday, said Orange police Lt. D. Nichols. The robber entered the restaurant, demanded cash and fled on foot, Nichols said without disclosing how much money was taken or releasing details on the suspect.
The second robbery occurred just after 11:30 p.m. at a Denny's in the 5100 block of Triggs Street in Commerce, said Sgt. Raymond Lam of the Los Angeles County sheriff's East Los Angeles Station. He said the restaurant was robbed by a gunman, but no other details were released.
Investigators were working to determine if the two robberies were related, Nichols said.
