(MYFOXLA) -- On Friday the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to rule on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 -- California's embattled law banning gay marriage.
But what didn't make headlines that same day was a new website -- launched by the Mormon church, a driving force behind the anti-gay marriage initiative four years ago.
It appears a lot has changed with what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has to say about homosexuality.
The website is called MormonsAndGays.org -- an attempt, the church says, to lead to greater sensitivity and better understanding of same-sex attraction. Notice that term "attraction."
The church won't call it "being gay" and in fact, still says "the attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is."
Dr. Patrick Mason, a professor at Claremont University's School of Religion and an expert on the Mormon church, talked to Studio 11 LA on the latest development.
