NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Parishioners have been heading to church for Christmas masses throughout the day.

"The singing was absolutely amazing," said one parishioner.

"The music – was really good," added another.

Rave reviews for the choir at the earlier Christmas mass.

And cheers for Cardinal Dolan who despite battling a cold -- delivered.

"Glad you're here so that we might celebrate this holy mass. We begin as ever calling to mind our sins and asking Jesus to save us from them because that's what he was born for."

"He (Cardinal Dolan) talked about peace among mankind and bringing everybody together as a group," said one parishioner.

And for the thousands that came to Saint Patrick's they did come together from all over the world. The mass uniting both Catholics and people of other faiths.

"The thing that was so impressive is so many visitors who were not catholic and wanted to just enjoy everything so it's just been so special."

"Everybody giving each other time and it's not really about the presents it's about the birth of Jesus and all being together."

"A blessed Christmas everybody and welcome, welcome everybody to Saint Patrick's Cathedral," said Cardinal Dolan.

"It's probably the best Christmas mass I've ever been to and I'm not a young lady, we've been to mass in London so this is great."

And the Cardinal, who again was battling a cold and some laryngitis, joked it was nothing a "little eggnog" couldn't fix. Outside of St. Patrick's Cathedral, still there are very large crowds even as the holiday is winding down.
