Kenny Taylor
MESA, Ariz. -
Mesa Police have arrested a man who broke into the Mesa Historical Museum early Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the museum, located at 51 E Main St., about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in response to a tripped burglary alarm.
When they arrived, police saw the suspect, 57-year-old Kenny Taylor, walking through the building. They later discovered glass doors had been smashed and two rooms had been broken into.
Taylor fled the scene on a bicycle but a backup officer was able to cut off his escape and take him into custody. Taylor refused to answer questions.
Officers noticed electronics had been set aside, likely to be removed later.
Taylor was booked into jail on charges of third degree burglary-unlawful entry.
