NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Two teenage girls have suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot outside Essex County College following a high school basketball game in the college's gym.

The Star-Ledger reports that an Essex County Sheriff's officer heard the shots at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday while patrolling the streets outside the gym. The game, between Shabazz and East Side high schools, was attended by more than 1,000 spectators.

Each young woman was shot once.

Investigators are searching for clues.
