Amber Goodson, Lily's mother, said that her daughter is having a difficult time emotionally
"She remembers everything and she just keeps asking me why and the hardest thing is not to give her an answer. I can't tell her why it happened," said Amber Goodson.
Physically, Amber said that Lily is making progress.
"Medically she is doing great. Just working on walking right now, then we should be released," said Amber Goodson.
Goodson hasn't left Lily's side since the attack, but now worries where she and her four children will live once Lily is released. The child is afraid to return home.
"She said she didn't want to go back, of course. She never wants to see another dog as long as she lives right now. She is depressed, she doesn't want to sing, she doesn't want music -- she doesn't want nothing right now. I just want to get her in a home," said Goodson.
With Lily's physical limitations, Goodson can't move into a house with stairs, she is looking for a one-story home big enough for the family of five.
Goodson is reaching out to the public for donations to help pay for the move and other expenses. She vows she won't return to a home that now holds such terrible memories.
"We're not going back. It's just that simple. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to take her back there," said Goodson.
Lily is learning to walk again and will require surgery to reconstruct her ear and face.
Goodson is asking that anyone who can help the family donate to the "Lily Goodson Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank.
