Police say Jeffrey West chased his roommate into his bedroom with a sledge hammer after the two began arguing. It happened Sunday at a home near 6th Street and Broadway.

Officers say West then began smashing right through the door in a drunken rage as his roommate dialed 911.

Police have now released that 911 call and you can hear West in the background making threats.

"911 emergency."

"Help me help me please!"

"What the address sir?"

"Oh dear god!"

"Help me!" ...

"Any weapons anyone injured?"

"He just beating on us with a sledge hammer!"

"He has a sledge hammer?

"Help me help me ahhh no please ahh ahh oh my god oh my god oh no you have to help me!"

West was later removed by SWAT when he refused to exit the home. He now faces aggravated assault and criminal damage charges.

Police say West was heavily intoxicated. The victim had visible injuries to his chest from the hammer coming through the door, but should be fine.
