UGA fell five yards short of playing for the national championship, losing to Alabama 32-28 in the SEC Championship.
"I can't lie, I shed a tear when we lost that game. It broke my heartIt absolutely broke my heart. You play in this conference, unless you're Alabama of course, or LSU, these chances don't come around but every so often," said one fan.
The Bulldogs went on the beat Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl, 45-31.
While UGA fans were still stung by faded possibilities, many said they wanted the national title to stay in the SEC.
"I grew up in the South, the SEC is my heart, it's tough to say because they beat us but I have to go with Alabama," said one man.
With UGA quarterback Aaron Murray announcing that he'd return for his senior year, fans have high hopes for next season.
"There is talk of him really helping or hurting the team, but I think he is the man to get it done. In my heart, I really do believe that," said one fan.
In the meantime, UGA fans were left watching the Crimson Tide roll on Monday night.
