WALLED LAKE, Mich. (WJBK) -- Authorities say a 42-year-old man has been taken into custody after firing shots in a Walled Lake neighborhood.
The shots were fired Thursday morning at the Winwood Place condos near N. Pontiac Trail. No injuries were reported.
Police say the suspect was heavily intoxicated and got into an argument with his mother before firing shots for an unknown reason around 8:40 a.m.
After police arrived on scene, a deputy was able to contact the suspect and talk him into surrendering. Police say the suspect first took a shower and peacefully turned himself into custody.
Some area residents were evacuated from their homes and traffic was rerouted. They have since been allowed back.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital for further evaluation.
