An 89-year-old woman and her two adult children were found dead of gunshot wounds in a Sandy Springs home on Wednesday.
Police were called to the scene after neighbors heard gunshots from the residence off of Brandon Mill Road.
Authorities identified the deceased as 89-year-old Edie Renner and her daughter, 49-year-old Suzanne, and 45-year-old son, Charles Renner IV.
Police said that Charles would visit his mother every day. When he missed a meeting a work on Wednesday, a concerned co-worked drove to the house and discovered the bodies.
Investigators say they didn't find any sign of a break-in or a struggle, but they did find a gun near the son's body.
"We're looking at the possibility of murder-suicide; we're also looking at the possibility of anything else that could have caused it," said Captain Steve Rose of the Sandy Springs Police Department.
Neighbors said that Edie lived at the home for about 50 years. The children grew up in that same home.
"It just goes to show that we kind of need to look out for one another because you never know what's going on next door," said Jimmy Terrell, a neighbor.
Police are investigating to see if the gun found in the home is the one used in the shooting.
