Mar Yvette Is Out And About, And The Sky's The Limit

Compton, CA -

Mar Yvette is out and about this morning. She's at a special place in Compton...Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum.

Did you know there is a museum in Compton where inner city kids as young as 8 years old are learning how to fly? Much more than a museum, TAM is a grassroots nonprofit bringing aviation history to life and empowering the dreams of youth to take flight in South Los Angeles.

It was started by former businessman and pilot Robin Petgrave 13 years ago and currently has 1,000+ (ages 8-21) in its flight program. Kids do everything from answer phones, do their homework, get tutored, tutor others and clean in order to earn "museum dollars" to redeem for the flight program.

Today, hundreds of former TAM students have gone on to careers in aviation, engineering, math and science.
