Off the Chain Opinion
Coleman A. Young served as Detroit's first black mayor from 1974 to 1993. During his time the city certainly saw it's fair share of problems.
Today the city has half of the population it did during the days Young ruled as mayor. Homicides are the highest rate per capita of any major city in the country and Detroit is on its way to bankruptcy or may soon have an emergency manager appointed to it.
Love him or hate him, how would former Mayor Young handle this situation?
Charlie LeDuff asks him? Play the video to hear what the former hizzoner said.
Psssssssst: Political consultant Steve Hood plays Coleman Young.
