Overnight, thieves
break into California Car Company in Brea, a high-end used car lot and steal 14
vehicles. Surveillance video shows a man and woman going through the lot
and driving off. Among the models taken, Mercedes, BMW, Maserati and Bentley.
Several hours later, police spotted one of the stolen BMW's with two suspects
inside and the chase was on. Soon afterwards, a tire flew off and the suspects ditched
the stolen car outside a Home Depot in Pico Rivera. A male suspect then
carjacked a van and dumped it a few blocks away.
Police captured a female
suspect at a nearby store. Some of the stolen cars were recovered around Brea.
It seems the thieves parked them on the street near the car lot, hoping to
return later and drive away.
