CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Chicago man has been charged in connection with a November 2012 shooting that left a man seriously wounded, police announced Saturday.

On Nov. 25, 2012 about 1:30 a.m., a man was shot as he walked into a residential building in the 2700 block of East 80th Street, police said at the time.

Four suspects followed the 19-year-old man into a hallway in the building and shot him in the back and buttocks, police said at the time.

Detectives learned Michel Steven Gay was one of the men who had robbed and shot the 19-year-old victim, according to a release from police News Affairs. On Friday morning, officers arrested Gay on the 200 block of West 95th Street.

Gay, 21, is charged with one count each of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery and issuance of a warrant, according to a release from police News Affairs.

Gay was ordered held without bond Saturday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's website.
