Police warn of increased robberies on South West side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Police are warning Ashburn neighborhood residents of an increase in robberies at businesses and of people on the street this month on the Southwest Side.
Two men enter fast food restaurants, announce a robbery and take property, according to an alert from Area Central detectives. In two other incidents, the same men are believed to approach people on the street and steal their property at gunpoint.
The robberies happened at 7:41 p.m. Jan. 4 in the 7600 block of South Pulaski Road; at 11:12 p.m. Jan. 16 in the 3200 block of West 83rd Street; at 10:26 p.m. Jan. 18 in the 8100 block of South Kedzie Avenue; and at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 8300 block of South Pulaski Road.
One of the robbers is described as an 18- to 20-year-old black man, about 6-feet tall and 170 to 180 pounds, police said. The second man is described as a 17- to 28-year-old black man between 5-feet-8 and 6-feet between 150 to 180 pounds.
