Country radio returns to New York City

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (AP) -

New York City is getting its twang back.

Cumulus Media has launched Nash 94.7, the city's first major FM country music station in nearly 17 years.

The station started off by playing Randy Houser's current number one single, "How Country Feels," followed by Alan Jackson's "Gone Country."

Cumulus Media bought the station in October from a non-profit Christian organization and changed its call letters to WRXP before switching to its latest country incarnation on Monday.

Cumulus Media also owns WABC and WPLJ.
