Kimberly Snyder Uncovers Fat Triggers In Everyday Foods

Posted: Updated:

Clinical nutritionist and best-selling author Kimberly Snyder was here with some of the hidden ingredients that are fat triggers in our everyday foods.

Kimberly Snyder, best selling author of the Beauty Detox Solution and Owner of Glow Bio Smoothie & Juice Shop on Melrose. She joined us today to talk about some of the many hidden fat triggers in the foods and meals we consume everyday.

1. Refined oil and oil in general: denatured and damaged oils are toxic and contribute to sluggish metabolism, and are super difficult to digest (fattening). Even "good" oils are liquid and processed (not found in nature) and are extremely calorically dense.

2. Gluten and inflammatory agents: create chronic inflammation in our system, which means inefficient digestion, and eventually weight gain. Gluten contains a substance called zonulin, which can create holes in the lining our your intestinal tract, leading to toxins passing into your bloodstream, gastrointestinal issues, and weight gain.

3. Conventional Meat: full of hormones, obesogens (chemical compounds that disrupt fat metabolism), steroids, antibiotics and fed with GMO corn and soy, the meat supply is full of hidden fat triggers.

4. Artificial sweeteners: though they have 0 calories, studies have shown that they can contribute to weight gain by stimulating the release of certain hormones that instruct our bodies to store fat, and can contribute to food cravings.

5. Dairy: Very acidic, which is a major cause of weight gain. Acidic toxins are stored in your fat cells.
