FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!
Here's more information about the guests we featured:
Dine LA Restaurant Week
It's baaaack! DineLA Restaurant Week is your chance to check out some of LA's hottest restaurants at a more palatable price. Going on now through Friday, February 1, the bi-annual dining event is meant to encourage everyone to visit new neighborhoods and try different cuisines with prix-fixe menus starting at just $15 for three courses. One of the new restaurants participating this year is The Parish in Downtown LA, where Executive Chef Casey Lane is offering everything from ricotta dumplings to grilled crab and rotisserie chicken. Since opening last year, The Parish has been named among the best new restaurants in the city and it's well deserved -- the food is incredible and the space is so cool and sceney yet warm and friendly. Bock Fest with Pink's Hot Dogs
Being in sunny Southern California, there's no need to wait for the summer to enjoy a beer festival. That said, Bock Fest takes places indoors, so even if it rains this weekend you're covered. Far more than your typical beer festival, Bock Fest is a celebration of some the world's best seasonal beers ranging from local microbrews to large brew houses that appeal to serious connoisseurs and curious tasters alike. The festivities also include music, entertainment and some of LA's favorite food vendors including the famous Pink's Hot Dogs. Best of all, 100% of all the proceeds benefit local charities. Bock Fest is Saturday, January 26 from 2pm-5pm in Hollywood.
Vintage Trouble
Ready for some hip-shaking, back-breaking, body-swaying rock & soul? Then you must check out Vintage Trouble. Quickly becoming one of the hottest bands not only in LA but around the world, this four-piece group from Hollywood has been making their mark with their slick retro style and rockin' soulful sound -- think Otis Redding meets the Black Keys. The group has opened for big-name acts like Bon Jovi and frontman Ty Taylor was even invited to front Queen for Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday celebration in London. Their studio album, The Bomb Shelter Sessions, is out now and you can catch them live on stage opening for The Who on Monday, January 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
