Teenage girl escapes man who grabbed her

TEMPE, Ariz. -

Tempe Police are looking for the man who grabbed a 15-year-old girl who was walking home from school on Tuesday afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., the high school student was walking home through an apartment complex at 3730 S. Mill Ave when she was approached by an unknown male.

The victim tried to avoid the suspect but he grabbed her arm. She was able to pull free and ran home. She was not hurt, and he didn't try to follow her.

The girl later called police when her mother arrived home. Officers checked the area for the suspect, but he was not located.

The man is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 39 years old, 5'2" tall, with short dark hair, heavy set, and wearing a dirty white T-shirt and jeans.

The suspect is facing charges of assault.
