NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

A high school senior from New Jersey announced that he is LGBT during a school assembly in front of 300 classmates, parents and faculty.

"Most of you see me every day, you see me acting the part of straight Jacob,"  Rudolph said, "When I am, in fact, LGBT(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)."

Jacob Rudolph was accepting the Class Actor award at Parsippany High School when he made the announcement.  The audience responded with a standing ovation.

He went on to say, "It's time to end the hate in our society and accept the people for who they are regardless of their sex, race, orientation, or whatever else may be holding back love and friendship. So take me, leave me, or move me out of the way. Because I am what I am, and that's how I'm going to act from now on."

Rudolph's father posted the video on  YouTube.

Jonathan Rudolph wrote a note at the beginning of the video saying, "Jacob said something in his acceptance speech that took more guts to do than anything I've ever attempted in my life."

Jacob Rudolph graduates in June.
