Matt Atchity Of Rotten Tomatoes Talks Movies

Posted: Updated:

Matt Atchity was here...is the editor in chief for the pop-culture website "Rotten Tomatoes"...and he is talking up the latest movie reviews.

Ben Affleck gets another award for "Argo"...courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes. Matt Atchity was in Friday morning to talk about which movies were given the "golden tomato" award...and "Argo" was tops.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the political thriller was the best reviewed movie of the year.

Matt brought in the actual award and talked to Lisa and Steve about his conversation with the award winning director about getting the award. He also discussed how critics are reacting to the weekend's new movies...including "Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters" and "Parker". Matt points out this weekend's new releases were screened late for critics or not at all. Which is normally not a good sign.

Other movies that received golden tomato awards were "Skyfall" (92%) for action/adventure, "The Cabin In The Woods" (94%) for horror, and "Looper" (93%) for sci-fi/fantasy. The moldy tomato award for worst reviewed movie of the year went to the Eddie Murphy comedy "A Thousand Words" (0%).

Matt Atchity also hosts a new show on Sirius XM called ‘Rotten Tomatoes Radio.'

The weekly one hour call in show airs Thursdays at 3:00pm.
