Tom Arnold Continues His 'Big Redneck Vacation'

Posted: Updated:

Such exciting news for actor and comedian Tom Arnold.

Okay, yes the third season of his show on "CMT" called "My Big Redneck Vacation" premieres this Saturday night at 9pm. But that's not why I was excited to talk with him today…don't get me wrong, happy for his show…but happier for his real life!

The 53 year old is about to become a dad for the very first time!!! And believe me this is something that Tom has wanted for a very, very long time.

The actor who was married three times before has dealt with his infertility issues over the years and believes ultimately it had an impact on those marriages…he admitted that he felt maybe it just wasn't in the cards for him.

But just last week he announced that he and his fourth wife Ashley Groussman are expecting their first child, a baby boy this spring. He and his wife endured several rounds of in vitro fertilization before learning that they would welcome a baby this spring. But it was all worth it and in typically Tom fashion he joked: "I have put on, like, 40 pounds. My wife is pregnant too." Ashley is 37 years old, and the pair got married back in 2009 in Maui.

For a little more about Tom, his official bio states:  As a writer, producer, and actor, Tom Arnold has established himself with both television and film audiences worldwide, having won such awards as the Peabody Award and a Golden Globe Award. Additionally, he helped put Fox Sports Network on the map with his hosting duties on Best Damn Sports Show Period. He recently returned to Fox Sports Network as producer and host of the kids' baseball show Kid Pitch. He also hosts CMT's My Big Redneck Wedding and the latest series on CMT, My Big Redneck Vacation. Arnold cornered the market on playing the resident comic relief in films like Nine Months with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore and Robin Williams; True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger; Hero with Dustin Hoffman; and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery with Mike Myers.

And believe me that just touches the surface when it comes to a guy who's been in more than 70 films, and has a heart of gold when it comes to his charities and how he gives of his time.

So great to spend a little time with him!  And a big congrats!

And don't forget "My Big Redneck Vacation" season 3 this Saturday night at 9pm.
