(CNS) A burglary suspect trying to elude bail bondsmen ran onto the roof of a house in East Los Angeles today and refused to come down for several hours before surrendering.
The standoff began about 7 a.m. near the 5300 block of Grace Place, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.
Deputies surrounded the single-story house and placed a ladder against the roof, but the shirtless man remained atop the building until about 11:30 a.m., when he came down and was taken into custody without incident.
