The weather system that moved through southern California yesterday and overnight ushered in a much colder air mass. The snow level dropped to about 3000' in some areas early this morning and snow showers lingered over our local mountains. 3-5" of fresh powder blanketed the high country forcing Rim of the World schools to close down for the day.
Our local snow resorts received some fresh powder on top of their bases. Mount Baldy picked up 2", Mountain High 4" and Bear Mountain 3". The storm system has moved east put of our area and the snow showers have ended, but chains are still required on many of the mountain roads.
Dry conditions are expected the remainder of the week but temperatures will remain on the chilly side. A frost advisory is in effect tonight for the Inland Empire. It's safe to wash your car though! Enjoy the sun.
