Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show to feature new breeds

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The Westminster Kennel Club had some major announcements about its dog show, including the addition of two breeds: the treeing walker coon hound and the Russell terrier.

Also new this year is the venue. Day judging will happen at Piers 92 and 94 on the West Side. At night you can see the dogs compete at Madison Square Garden.

This year more than 2,700 dogs will be competing.

The winner takes home the prestigious title Best in Show, does a media tour and eats a steak dinner at Sardi's.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be held in New York City on February 11 and 12 at the piers and at MSG.

You can watch it online at http://www.westimnstekennelclub.org or in person.
