Police make arrest in shooting of Griffin woman

GRIFFIN, Ga. -

Police in Spalding County say they have made an arrest in connection with the shooting of a woman in Griffin on January 24.

According to the Spalding County Sheriff's Office, Michael Phillip Pattillo and another person ran into the Super Speed Zone store located on North Expressway in Griffin, and told a clerk to call 911. They then fled the scene.

Police say the shooting victim was found in a vehicle in the parking lot of the store after the two suspects fled. Deputies brought Pattillo and the other person in for questioning. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the shooting happened on 4th Avenue in Griffin, and Pattillo was identified as the shooter. The other person was released.

Pattillo is facing charges of aggravated assault, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Spalding County Jail without bond.

Police say the woman is expected to make a full recovery.
