The dead toll now stands at 25, as of midnight Thursday.
More than 100 are hurt and there are reports of many still trapped after the
explosion that torn through an office building in the heart of Mexico City
. It's part of the headquarters of one of the biggest companies in the world, Pemex, the
state run oil company in Mexico.
There are early reports of a gas build up in the lower
levels of the building. Then the explosion in the office building that is right next
to the51-story Pemex tower. Rescuers are still said to be
digging through the rubble, pulling out survivors and those who did not make it . Pemex has been
hindered by poor safety records.
Dozens of accidents and explosions have hit the oil company,
killing hundreds and injuring thousands through the decades.
