Now that Kim and Kanye have purchased their $11 million mansion in Bel Air for their growing family, it's time to focus on more pressing matters – something every family-to-be needs to think about childcare.
Most people would assume that baby West will need a nanny considering both parents are high profile with very busy schedules.
Here are my tips for the soon-to-be celebrity parents as well as any other parents planning for a bundle of joy:
- Think about having a professional baby nurse to help you with those first couple of months. Night care and training for new parents are included in their services. To secure a quality nurse, it's important that parents start searching as soon as they know they are expecting a little bundle of joy.
- Consider using a nanny agency to help you find a seasoned nanny that has previous experience working for high profile clients. Traveling with children should also be one of their specialties.
- When it comes to finding a full-time nanny, you'll want to search no more than 2 months away from the date you'll need them to start. Most nannies won't be in a financial situation to hold off on receiving a paycheck if you find them more than 3 months out from a position's start date.
- Call your lawyer and work out a confidentiality agreement or at least find one online that will suffice. Nothing is worse than a former celebrity employee coming out with a "tell-all" book about the family's private matters or even chatting up all of the mothers and nannies at the park about the goings on in your home!
- Be prepared to pay top dollar. If you are seeking a nanny with serious credentials, then it's going to cost you! Celebrity nannies are a hot commodity and deserve to be compensated according to their above and beyond qualifications.
Good luck to all of the new parents as they find their way into parenthood!
