SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -- Weather Authority Ben Bailey says up to 3 inches of snow is possible in parts of southeastern Michigan.
The snow is part of a storm Monday stretching across several Midwest states. Bailey says the snow will begin around 7 a.m. with the intensity picking up through the morning commute and winding down during the afternoon hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties until 2 p.m. Monday. Bailey says the highest snow totals will be closer to the Michigan-Ohio border.
Lake-effect snow could bring 5 to 10 inches by late afternoon in parts of southwestern Michigan, with areas further away from the lake expected to get 2 to 5 inches.
Michigan's Upper Peninsula also was expected to see lake-effect snow off Lake Superior, with up to 6 inches forecast for Grand Marais.
