Mohave County board scraps dress code for meetings

Posted: Updated:

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has scrapped its dress code for people attending the board's meetings.

The dress code repealed by the board Monday banned tank tops, halter tops, muscle shirts, mini-skirts, hats, headbands and head scarves.

The board delayed until March a decision on whether to scale back security measures at the county administration building in Kingman.

The county installed an X-ray machine, a metal detector and gun storage lockers in the building in 2010 after a protest at a board meeting.

According to the Mohave Daily News, one reason for the delay is a planned March visit by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.

If changes are approved during the board's March meeting, they would take effect April 1.
