He almost got away with it; the brutal murder of his wife in 2004. Police won't say what cracked the case, but now Madgi
Girgis is in jail and the arrests of his accomplices are imminent.
Westminister police arrested 60 year old Madgi
Girgis on Friday. Tuesday he appeared in court, but agreed to a continued
arraignment.
He is accused of soliciting murder, murder for financial
gain and to prevent testimony. Back in 2004, Ariet Girgis wanted a divorce and her
estranged husband faced domestic violence charges.
Police say he thought
the divorce would cost him too much and a domestic violence conviction could me
he'd lose his medical license as a respiratory therapist.
Police say he found some people to get rid of his
wife. They went to the family home; bound and gagged the 17 year old son
and then another suspect took the wife into her bed room and murdered her with
a sharp object.
Girgis' sons were in the courtroom Tuesday
but they've yet to talk to them. I asked the older son Richard what he
would say to him when he finally could. My heart broke a little when i
watched his face and heard his answer.
