A family of six is displaced after a fire destroyed their home near Lindsay and Brown Roads on Wednesday morning.
"Future son in law came home from visiting my daughter at work, and noticed the house was on fire and part of the exterior of the house was on fire," said homeowner Jerry Croy.
Two children, a 3-year-old and 7-year-old, got out safe. Croy says he went back into the home to get his wife and a puppy.
When he went back inside, he says smoke was filling the home and fire alarms had started going off.
Firefighters say the fire started in the back of a truck and quickly spread to the attic on the side of the house.
"Our neighbors were out with us, giving us blankets and warm clothes because we really didn't have much to put on," said Croy.
The six family members are all safe. Firefighters were able to find and save the family's missing dog, but they say up to 11 cats are still unaccounted for.
"It's real difficult, it's hard to believe that's our beautiful home," said Janelle Croy. "This is some dream."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
