A former federal prison doctor who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting inmates who came to him for treatment has been sentenced to just over two years in prison.
A federal judge in Atlanta on Thursday sentenced Dr. Lewis Jackson to serve 25 months followed by two years of supervised released and 200 hours of community service.
Jackson pleaded guilty in November to three counts of sexually abusing male inmates who were under his supervision at the federal penitentiary in Atlanta in October 2011. He was indicted on the charges in August.
Jackson last month pleaded guilty to similar charges in Washington, D.C., where prosecutors say he sexually assaulted an inmate at the D.C. jail in November 2008. He's set to be sentenced there later this year.
