PEMBROKE, Ga. (AP) - A 5-year-old is recovering from serious head trauma after authorities say the child was struck by a truck after stepping off a school bus in Bryan County.
Bryan County Sheriff Clyde Smith said the child was leaving the school bus around 4 p.m. on Georgia Highway 119 near the intersection of Wildwood Church Road.
Smith said the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
Pembroke is about 30 miles west of Savannah.
