PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (AP) - A Japanese manufacturer has announced plans to open a biotech facility in metro Atlanta.
Gov. Nathan Deal Friday announced Calpis America is constructing a plant in Peachtree City to produce animal feed ingredients which are widely used in the livestock industry.
The Tokyo-based company is expecting to open the plan in April of 2014, and will create 42 new jobs during its first year of operations.
Deal says the company is investing $20 million in the facility.
