ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say a 79-year-old Atlanta woman has been arrested on drug charges after police found nine pounds of marijuana in her home.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/14OCjfw ) reports Norma Cheren is being held in the Fulton County Jail.
Police say they followed 1 of Cheren's alleged customers after hearing about a possible drug deal and found marijuana in the woman's car. Police say the woman told authorities where she bought the drug and Cheren was arrested Thursday after police raided her house.
Authorities say they found a large container full of marijuana and more than $130,000 in cash stored in metal lunchboxes.
A court-appointed attorney told a Fulton County magistrate that Cheren was scheduled to have hip surgery this week. She is being held on $25,000 bond.
