Investigators raided a hotel in Tijuana on Monday in a desperate attempt to end the manhunt for former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner, who is suspected in three killings.
The Hotel Tapatio was searched by more than 20 officers. No evidence of Dorner was found on the property, but officers responded quickly after someone reported seeing Dorner at the hotel.
The U.S. marshal cited in the criminal complaint said based on his knowledge, there is probable cause to believe that Dorner has moved and traveled from California to Mexico.
An affidavit included in the complaint was written by U.S. Marshals Service Inspector Craig McClusky the same day that the search for Dorner led to his burned out truck in the mountain resort of Big Bear.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency said Monday it would be heightening inspections for vehicles heading into Mexico.
