I had so much fun sharing my projects with you this morning on our first ever "Put a Pin in It" segment! Here's a breakdown of each of the projects we did along with my tips. I made mistakes so you don't have too!
Have fun!!

Floral Ice Cubes
What you'll need: Flowers & Muffin Tin
- A great way to add a romantic touch to your champagne bucket. Impress your guests at a party or for a Valentine's dinner for 2!
- Use a muffin tin for your floral cubes. It's something you probably already have in your cabinet & it makes the cubes more substantial. This is the time to show off!
- Place flower buds, petals, greenery...whatever you have in the tin. There are no rules! Cover with water and freeze.
- Don't worry if the water doesn't cover the flower or it floats. It actually looks cooler if the bud is popping out of the cube.
- Let cubes sit at room temp for a few minutes so you can flip over tin and they'll pop right out!
- If you don't have a fancy pants wine bin ( I don't ) you can just use a big clear bowl. It actually displays your ice cubes better.
- Plop in your wine/champagne and admire your fabulousness!
Chalkboard Wine Bottles
What you'll need: Wine Bottle, Chalkboard Spray Paint, Painters Tape, Colored Chalk
- I love these as favors at a party, as a way to personalize a bottle of wine as a gift, or as a way to commemorate and display a special bottle of wine.
- Important! Be sure to remove the labels before spray painting! I learned this the hard way! Go the extra mile. It doesn't look as pretty if you spray over the label.
- Soak the bottle in soap and hot water..if you let it soak long enough the label should then peel right off.
- Give it 2 coats of chalkboard paint.
- It dries really fast! But resist the temptation! Give it at least a few hours before you start your chalk creation!
- Remember! Don't be afraid to mess up! It erases like a real chalkboard!
Heart in the Sand Photos
What you'll need: A day at the beach!
- This is such an easy project but the sentiment will go a long way!
- Draw your message in the sand closest to the water. It's the best stuff!
- Take plenty of photos
- If you have an i-phone download the "PicStitch" App. It's free and it turns your favorite photos into a beautiful collage. You design the layout. This way you don't have to choose just one
- Frame in a vintage frame or flea market find. You can always spray paint the frame if you don't love it! Hey---another great use for my beloved chalk board paint! Love that stuff.
